Frame
“Your house is framed out.” I will never forget that call from our builder five years ago when we were building our current house. There was a sense of completion. Once a house is framed, it has forum, shape and an identity. The frame may not be the pretty part. Often it is wood 2x4’s or metal studs that are bare and quite boring. The purpose of the frame is for support and structure.
Our skeletal system is our frame. It isn’t really “beautiful” to the human eye. In fact, bones often symbolize death, danger, or warning. Why? Let’s go back to the house analogy for a moment. If you see a framed-in house, you may go look around to see the layout of the house but you would not live there. It is sparse and has a hard feel to it. You can get splinters or step on nails. It is not complete.
Our frame is covered by muscles, tendons, ligaments, soft tissue and skin. That is when our frame ‘looks’ right. But looks can be deceiving. A patient recently told me that water has been leaking in his exterior walls for quite some time and has rotted the wood and the framing has to be replaced. We can replace the frame of a house, but are stuck with our ‘frame’.
Everything from scoliosis to sitting behind a computer every day can distort your frame and cause problems. These problems can certainly subluxate your nervous system and create further problems. A subluxated person is propagating a negative posture and is restricting movement. No amount of dancing, walking, exercising, or yoga will correct a subluxation. While these activities are profoundly important for your health and well-being, they do not solve the problem of a subluxation.
The adjustment corrects the subluxation in the nervous system and paves the way for your innate intelligence to restore normal posture, movement and joint function. That is the blessed mystery of vitalistic health care and that is the beautiful part of a chiropractic adjustment. It is right for everyone and opens the person up to renewal in his or her life. In areas that they previously were forced into an adaptive response, freedom and restoration are possible.
Get checked by your chiropractor to let your body be free of an encumbered subluxated lifestyle.
