Mission Statement

The Virginia Institute of Chiropractic is founded on the principles on Chiropractic, and Judeo-Christian beliefs. The Institute is a flaming torch in the bleak world of health care. Those who are healthy become more productive and better able to express their potential as humans. Those who are challenged, sick or infirm are welcomed with loving arms and find fertile soil for encouragement, growth, hope and restoration of life. All are invited. All will be given the opportunity to learn of the devastating effects of vertebral subluxations on human life and human potential. The Institute offers the finest chiropractic care available, which is our gift to you.

Services & Techniques Used

Dr. Hawk is a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) specializing in Upper Cervical technique. These are a few of the methods and techniques he uses in his work:

TORQUE RELEASE

This form of adjustment uses an instrument called the Integrator, and may also be done by hand. It works by applying a gentle tapping to the spine, to encourage the bones to reposition themselves correctly. It can be applied to any part of the spine. The adjustments are very gentle and precise.

TOGGLE RECOIL UPPER CERVICAL

The Toggle adjustment is the foundation of chiropractic and has been used with tremendous success for over 75 years. Toggle adjustments, primarily applied to the base of the skull, result in global changes in the body's physiology. Normally, this adjustment will hold for several months, thus allowing the body to heal and the nervous system to function without interference in this critical area.

INSIGHT MILLENNIUM

How do you know your nervous system is improving? You will notice changes within your body and in your increased energy levels. We will also monitor your progress through non-invasive nervous system tests. These tests include Thermography (measuring heat at various points along the spinal column), Surface Electromyograph (measuring electromagnetic activity), and Digital Inclinometer. You will receive an easy to read color printout showing areas of stress along the spine, to provide you with feedback showing the changes in your nervous system function.
